FAQs

What should I expect on my first Physical Therapy visit?

Every visit will be a 1-on-1 experience between you and your physical therapist for the entirety of your time with Coeur Motion Physical Therapy.

Your first visit starts with your story and taking a thorough history that helps your therapist understand potential root causes for your primary concern and if additional referrals may be necessary. This first visit also involves a comprehensive evaluation, including but not limited to, movement screening, biomechanical assessment of the body region of interest, initial treatment techniques, patient education, and patient-specific goal development.

What should I wear to my Physical Therapy appointments?

Clothing that allows your physical therapist to visualize the area of concern as well as allow for ease of movement (e.g. shorts, tank top, sports bra, athletic shoes, etc.).

How may appointments should I schedule?

It depends as this is based on several factors. For example, the chronicity and severity of your symptoms, contributing factors to overall health, and the shared commitment between you and your physical therapist will all impact how many appointments each individual may need.

Keep in mind that Physical Therapy is not often a “quick fix.” While that we expect that you will be feeling better soon after starting on this healing journey, long-lasting results often requires change and learning new and more optimal movement strategies; all of which takes time and practice.

Do I need a referral for Physical Therapy?

Idaho is a direct access state, meaning that a referral is not required to receive physical therapy services. However, some insurance companies do require a referral for reimbursement.

We recommend you contact your insurance company directly to confirm if a referral is required for reimbursement at an out-of-network rate.

If you would like to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (i.e. Superbill) upon request.

Do you accept insurance for Physical Therapy?

In order to provide each client with a 1-on-1, individualized experience that allows for long-lasting, optimal results, Coeur Motion Physical Therapy is solely a cash-based, out-of-network provider. This means that we do not bill your insurance company directly. We do offer competitive fees that are comparable to seeing an in-network provider.

Upon request, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (i.e. Superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for out-of-network benefits.

All payments will be due at time of service (cash / credit card ONLY).

Unfortunately, due to Medicare regulations, we are NOT legally able to treat Medicare patients, even at cash rates. Please see below for more information.

What if I have Medicare or turn 65 during the course of treatment?

The licensed physical therapists at Coeur Motion Physical Therapy are not enrolled Medicare providers. Medicare has demanding technical and administrative requirements that must be met for services to be considered medically necessary covered benefits. We at Coeur Motion Physical Therapy believe those requirements take unnecessary time away from the services we provide, creating barriers to providing the most efficient and effective care for our patients.

Medicare Part B & Medicare Advantage Plans As non-enrolled providers, Coeur Motion Physical Therapy cannot legally submit claims to Medicare. Medicare will NOT pay for services furnished by non-enrolled providers. Medicare will exclusively pay for medically necessary services provided by enrolled Medicare providers ONLY, even if the same services are conducted from a Medicare enrolled provider.

If you want Medicare to pay for services that might be considered covered benefits, which is fully your choice, you should seek those services from a Medicare enrolled provider. If you decide at any point, including during the course of your care at Coeur Motion Physical Therapy, that you want Medicare to pay for the covered services, we are happy to recommend a Medicare enrolled provider and we will terminate your care with Coeur Motion Physical Therapy.

We CAN legally see a client with Medicare coverage if services are NOT covered by Medicare (e.g. wellness, fitness, or services that the patient cannot do on their own or could receive from a less-skilled provider like a personal trainer, massage therapist, etc.).

If you:

  • believe you may be a candidate for wellness services,

  • would like a referral to another clinic that does bill Medicare, or

  • have Medicare supplemental or secondary coverage

and have additional questions, please contact us.

What about motor vehicle accident (MVA) and worker’s compensation claims?

Coeur Motion Physical Therapy is solely a cash-based, out-of-network provider. This means that we do not bill your insurance company directly. This includes motor vehicle (MVA) / personal injury protection (PIP) / medical payment (MedPay) and worker’s compensation (L&I). We do offer competitive fees that are comparable to seeing an in-network provider.

Upon request, we can provide you with a detailed receipt (i.e. Superbill) that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement in accordance to your insurance plan benefit coverage.

All payments will be due at time of service (cash / credit card ONLY).

Can I use my HSA/FSA card?

HSA and FSA can be used for physical therapy services which include:

  • Initial Evaluation

  • Follow Up session

  • Dry Needling sessions

Please let us know if you need a receipt for your records.

What is your cancellation policy?

*Note: 24 hours notice means 24 hours prior to the time of your scheduled appointment. For example, if your appointment is scheduled for a Wednesday at 3pm, we expect to receive notice of cancellation before 3pm on the Tuesday before.
